Welcome to our web site! This is the home page for the sailing vessel Heart of Texas. In 2001, we (Rankin and Sandy) decided to take a break from all the stresses of life (and work) and take off sailing. Well, after about nine months of preparation which included getting the Heart of Texas ready for cruising, wrapping up loose ends (i.e. work, home, etc.) and planning about a years' worth of cruising (or shall we say loosely planning -- actually very loosely planning), we finally left Houston, Texas and started cruising. Since we were going to cruise around for a while, we thought a website would be a good idea so family, friends and other interested parties could find out what we are doing, where we've been and where we're going. So that is how and why the Heart of Texas website is here today.
We hope that you can take a moment or ten or even twenty to browse around, look at pictures and hopefully have an enjoyable and amusing experience visiting our website.
