We left Galveston, Texas, on Tuesday, March 26th and our first journey was to Biloxi, Mississippi. It took us only four days and three nights ... finally we arrived in Biloxi and anchored off of Ship Island. After being seasick the entire trip, I never thought I would be so glad to see that island. By the way, Rankin's great grandfather had been imprisoned by Yankees on Ship Island during the War Between the States and had been forced to work on the fort's construction. Pretty interesting huh!!!
We stayed a week in Biloxi visiting with family, touring the town, doing a few chores and recovering from the trip (at least I was).
Next, we headed towards Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
