Allan's Cay

April, 2003

We arrived in Allan's Cay on Friday, April 11th and anchored for the evening.  We decided to take the dinghy and take a ride to the beach which is where we found the sunbathing iguanas.  Actually, they are an endemic subspecies of iguana called the yellowish 'Bahamian dragon' and they live on the island.  Yes, the iguanas are all over the island and especially the beach -- makes it a little challenging for sunbathers.  Here are a few photos of Allan's Cay.

The anchorage was pretty rough at Allan's Cay and it was time to pick up Rankin's mother, Janie in Nassau; so we hoisted our anchor and off we went ... Nassau bound.
