February, 2006
After spending about a month in Margarita, Venezuela, we were ready to make our passage to St. Croix. For this trip, we were lucky enough to have a new crew member, Jamie Horton. Lynn from the sailing vessel Blue Marine and Jamie's sister, and that's how we met her. It was great having an extra crew member, because it meant we could sleep longer during our three day passage. We left Venezuela on Saturday, February 11th, had a relatively calm passage and arrived in St. Croix on the morning of Tuesday, February 14th Valentine's Day. We took a tour of the island and attended Agrafest which is an agricultural festival held every year on the island. Jamie spent about a week with us before she flew back home, so on Monday, February 20th we took her to the airport and said our goodbyes ... until next time Jamie. We had just enough time to get the boat cleaned and ready for Rankin's mother Janie's visit. We picked Janie up on Tuesday, February 21st and began touring the island with Janie. Here are some pictures for her visit with us in St. Croix. Once we finished touring St. Croix it was time to make an overnight passage to St. Martin, and Janie was up for it. So, we left St. Croix and sailed to St. Martin. If you would like to catch up on the latest travels, take a look at What's Happening. Don't forget ... keep coming back. |
