St. Thomas/St. John/St. Croix

June, 2006

On the evening of Thursday, June 1st after running last minute errands and checking weather (one last time), we set sail for an overnight passage to St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands.  This was Patrick very first passage and he did fine.  We arrived in St. John the next day around noon, anchored, checked in with customs & immigration and relaxed.  We then circumnavigated St. John with Patrick, hiking and snorkeling along the way.  Here are some photos.

Our hike to Annaberg Ruins, old sugar plantation located on St. John    Annaberg Ruins

Skinny Legs ... which are Patrick's legs

We had a wonderful time showing Patrick the many different islands and our new lifestyle.  He adapted very well to island time as if he's been doing it all his life and seemed to enjoy his stay which made us very happy.  Unfortunately, it was about time for him to leave so we sailed to St. Thomas on Wednesday, June 7th and took Patrick to the airport.  We'll miss him a great deal.

We stayed in St. Thomas for two weeks finalizing boat repairs and then we sailed to St. Croix.  Our trip to St. Croix was mainly to stage for our passage to Bonaire.  We waited for a weather window and on Saturday, July 1st began our passage from St. Croix to Bonaire.  Come travel with us to Bonaire or if you would like to catch up on the latest travels, take a look at What's Happening.  Don't forget ... keep coming back.
